Your body should not be placed in a calorie deficit diet if you want to add some weight and increase your muscle mass, this is because this kind of diet should only be used if you are planning to lose weight. Foods that are rich in carbohydrates that have not been tampered yet is the right kind of food that you should take such as white bread. Moreover, carbohydrates that are not yet tampered are also capable of providing a slow and steady release of energy like brown rice.
